A two-year-old boy is in serious condition in hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Rathkeale, County Limerick, on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene in the West Limerick town shortly after 4pm on 5 September 2026. An air ambulance was deployed to assist, and the toddler was airlifted to University Hospital Limerick for urgent medical treatment.
An Garda Síochána confirmed that emergency personnel attended the site of the collision and that an investigation into the incident is underway. A Garda spokesperson stated that officers were at the scene of a serious road traffic collision and that inquiries remain ongoing.
