Commuters traveling into Dublin from Kildare and Newbridge faced significant disruptions on Tuesday morning due to a major signalling issue on the rail network.

According to Irish Rail, the technical fault caused substantial delays to several morning services, impacting passengers during the peak commuting hours. The issue specifically affected the line between Newbridge and Kildare, leading to knock-on delays for services operating on the route.

Irish Rail staff worked to resolve the signalling problem as quickly as possible, but commuters were advised to expect continued delays while the backlog of trains was cleared. Passengers traveling on the affected routes were urged to check the latest service updates before starting their journeys.

The transport operator apologized to customers for the inconvenience caused by the disruption to their morning travel plans.
