A motorcyclist in his 50s has died following a road traffic collision involving a van on the R736 near Wellingtonbridge, County Wexford, on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency services and An Garda Síochána were called to the scene shortly before 3:15 pm on 20 September. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the location. Authorities confirmed that the driver of the van did not require immediate hospital treatment.

The road was closed to allow Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to conduct a technical examination of the scene, and local traffic diversions were put in place. The local coroner has been notified, and arrangements are being made for a post-mortem examination.

Investigating officers have requested that any witnesses to the collision come forward. Gardaí are specifically appealing to motorists who were travelling on the R736 around the time of the crash and who may have video recordings, including dash-cam footage, to make them available to investigators.
