Social media platform TikTok has notified members of its Dublin-based e-commerce team that their positions are facing redundancy, marking another potential reduction in the company's Irish workforce.

Staff based at the company's Sorting Office location in Dublin's south docks were informed of the proposed cuts during a meeting on Tuesday morning. Under Irish labour legislation, the affected workers will now enter a formal consultation process with management.

It is understood that the latest round of lay-offs directly impacts a small unit within the company, with around twelve staff members affected. The announcement follows internal concerns that certain e-commerce functions could be transferred to TikTok's London operations or outsourced to third-party contractors.

The development comes weeks after a separate, broader restructuring initiative by parent company ByteDance. That earlier round put roughly 300 Irish positions at risk, primarily across trust, safety, and operational departments, while simultaneously proposing the creation of specialized roles in the capital.
