The Russian Embassy in Dublin has issued a public statement accusing the Irish Government of "copy-pasting EU conspiracy theories" after Russian Ambassador Yury Filatov was summoned to a meeting by the Department of Foreign Affairs.

The diplomatic summoning followed an investigation by German authorities into an attempted drone attack near Ukrainian cargo aircraft at Leipzig/Halle Airport on August 4. German officials reported that a drone fitted with an explosive device failed to detonate due to a faulty detonator, and subsequently held Russian state agencies responsible for the incident.

In response to Germany's findings, several European Union member states and the EU diplomatic service summoned Russian ambassadors to register formal protests. During an informal gathering of EU foreign ministers held in County Wicklow, Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs Helen McEntee expressed solidarity with Germany, stating that the incident highlighted wider European security concerns.

The Russian Embassy dismissed the allegations as unproven narratives originating from European institutions. Moscow has repeatedly denied involvement in the Leipzig airport incident, describing the claims made by Western governments as unfounded provocations.
