Global risk and professional services firm Marsh has appointed Galway native Tom Geraghty as Chief Executive Officer of its European division, effective November 1, 2026.

Geraghty will be based in Dublin and report directly to Flavio Piccolomini, CEO of Marsh International. In his new role, he will be responsible for setting the strategic direction across the European region and fostering collaboration across business units to help clients manage operational and financial risks.

He will retain his existing position as President of Marsh's European People and Investments business, a role he has held since 2019. Geraghty succeeds Christos Adamantiadis, who is transitioning to become Global Head of Placement and Market Solutions at Marsh Risk.

With more than 27 years of experience within Marsh and its parent company Marsh McLennan, alongside 33 years in professional services, Geraghty has previously held key leadership roles including CEO of Mercer Ireland and Market Leader for Marsh McLennan in Ireland. He holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in business from Dublin City University.

Commenting on the appointment, Piccolomini highlighted Geraghty's track record in building teams and developing client solutions across international markets, noting that his leadership comes at a time when businesses face heightened economic and geopolitical challenges. Geraghty said he was honoured to take on the leadership role and pledged to focus on delivering forward-looking services to support client resilience and growth across Europe.
