A man in his 40s is due to appear before Clonmel District Court on Saturday morning after being charged in connection with an alleged public order incident in Waterford city centre.
According to An Garda Síochána, officers responded to reports of a disturbance in the Broad Street area at approximately 4:40 pm on Friday, September 11. The incident reportedly involved an altercation between a man and a group of teenagers, during which a firearm was allegedly produced.
Responding gardaí arrested a man in his 40s and recovered a suspected imitation firearm at the scene. The suspect was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda station in County Waterford before being formally charged.
Gardaí confirmed that no injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
