A man in his 20s has been charged after Gardaí seized suspected cocaine and cannabis with an estimated street value of over €310,000 during a search of a residence in Carrigtwohill, County Cork.

The search operation was executed on Wednesday, September 16, by officers attached to the Midleton Crime Unit, assisted by the Cork County Divisional Drugs Unit and additional regional units. Gardaí entered the domestic property under warrant as part of ongoing targeted operations into regional criminality.

During the search, Gardaí recovered more than two kilograms of suspected cocaine, estimated to be worth in excess of €200,000. Officers also seized vacuum-packed packages of suspected cannabis herb with an estimated value of over €112,000.

A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene and taken to a Garda station in the Cork County Division. An Garda Síochána confirmed that he was subsequently charged and scheduled to appear before Midleton District Court on Thursday morning, September 17.

All of the illicit substances seized during the raid have been sent for analysis by Forensic Science Ireland. Gardaí indicated that investigations into the matter are continuing.
