Gardaí have arrested a man in his 40s following an alleged assault in Dublin city centre on Saturday afternoon that left another man in hospital.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident on O'Connell Street Lower at approximately 4:30 p.m. An adult male sustained injuries during the incident and was transported to hospital for treatment. Gardaí stated that his injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
A suspect, also aged in his 40s, was arrested following the incident. He was brought to a Garda station within the Dublin Metropolitan Region, where he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Garda officers confirmed that investigations into the incident remain ongoing as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the assault.
