Limerick-based engineering firm DECI Ltd has announced a major international expansion, opening a new office in Chicago, Illinois, in a move expected to create 250 jobs.

The expansion forms a central component of the company's global growth strategy, which focuses on delivering complex engineering and commissioning projects across data centres, life sciences, and energy infrastructure. According to the company, the bulk of the newly created positions will be located in the United States to support its growing client base in North America.

Founded in Limerick in 1994, DECI specialises in managing and validating critical infrastructure systems, coordinating project management, quality oversight, and technical testing for complex builds prior to handover.

The establishment of the Chicago base expands the firm's global reach beyond its existing footprint across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. The move aims to position the company to capture further market share in North America, where demand for data centre construction and life sciences infrastructure has seen rapid growth.
