Jason Hutch, the 37-year-old son of Gerry "The Monk" Hutch, has been extradited from Spain to Ireland aboard the Irish Government's Dassault Falcon 6X aircraft to face an organized crime charge.

The Air Corps-operated aircraft departed Lanzarote on Thursday afternoon and touched down at Casement Aerodrome in Baldonnel, where officers from An Garda Síochána took Mr Hutch into custody. He was subsequently taken under Garda escort ahead of a special sitting of the Dublin District Court at the Criminal Courts of Justice.

Mr Hutch, who also uses the name Jamie Murphy, was detained by Spanish authorities in Lanzarote in April under a European Arrest Warrant. His arrest followed a wider probe led by the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (NBCI) into alleged organized crime and money laundering activities.

He had previously contested the extradition order through the Spanish court system. However, following the conclusion of his final legal challenge, Spanish authorities authorized his surrender to Irish police.

Prior to these proceedings, Mr Hutch had no criminal convictions and had never been charged with a criminal offence. Authorities noted that no findings of guilt have been made against him and he retains the presumption of innocence as court proceedings commence.
