A large-scale policing operation involving over 60 members of An Garda Síochána was carried out across Dublin on Friday morning, resulting in the seizure of suspected drugs, vehicles, ammunition, and cash.

The searches targeted 10 residential properties in Clondalkin, Ballyfermot, Ronanstown, Terenure, and Tallaght. The high-intensity operation was led by officers from Serious Crime South Clondalkin, supported by the Dublin Crime Response Team, the Armed Support Unit, and the Garda Dog Unit.

According to An Garda Síochána, the operation aimed to gather evidence relating to the discharge of a firearm in St Killian's Park, Clondalkin, on 4 August. In that incident, a man in his 40s was injured when shots were fired at a vehicle.

During Friday's operation, officers recovered suspected cocaine valued at €18,000, cannabis herb worth €15,860, and cannabis resin valued at €1,190. Gardaí also seized 10 shotgun cartridges, €5,000 in cash, mobile phones, a Yamaha motorcycle, a Ford Transit van, and a Yamaha boat engine.

A garda spokesperson stated that the seized drugs and ammunition will be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland for forensic examination, and investigations into the shooting remain ongoing.
