Gardaí and emergency services responded to reports of a suspected petrol bomb attack that caused extensive damage to a residential property in Cork City on Saturday night.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:15 pm in the Bride Valley Park area of Fairhill, situated on the city's northside. Units from the Cork City Fire Brigade were dispatched to the scene and quickly extinguished the blaze.

An Garda Síochána confirmed that all occupants evacuated the residence safely and no injuries were reported. However, the house sustained significant fire damage during the attack.

Garda officers have launched an investigation into the incident, treating it as criminal damage by fire. Authorities are appealing to anyone who was in the Bride Valley Park area around the time of the incident, or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage, to contact Gardaí.
