Amazon has announced the creation of more than 200 new frontline operational roles in Dublin alongside an increase in minimum starting pay for its frontline workforce across Ireland.

The recruitment drive will fill newly created positions across the company's main fulfilment centre in Baldonnell, west Dublin, as well as its distribution sites in Rathcoole and Ballycoolin. The expansion will increase headcount across Amazon's Dublin operational facilities to more than 700 workers, supporting seven-day logistics and delivery operations.

Beginning September 27, 2026, the company will raise minimum starting pay for operational employees across full-time, part-time, and fixed-term roles in Ireland by 65 cent to €17.10 per hour. According to Amazon, the figure corresponds to an annual starting salary of approximately €35,568 for full-time staff.

Amazon stated that frontline starting rates in Ireland have risen by approximately 27 percent since 2022, when minimum starting pay was €13.50 per hour. The updated rate stands €2.95 above Ireland's national minimum wage and €1.70 above the living wage. Eligible frontline employees in Ireland will also receive free Amazon Prime membership for the first time as part of an updated benefits package.

The retailer employs roughly 6,500 people across its corporate, cloud, and logistics divisions in Ireland, alongside an extended workforce of approximately 10,000 contractors and site personnel.
