Irish public broadcaster RTÉ has secured a new sports broadcast agreement with the DP World Tour, obtaining free-to-air television highlights and radio rights for the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor, along with a multi-year deal to extend live coverage of the Amgen Irish Open.
Under the terms of the package, RTÉ will broadcast television highlights from each day of competition when the Ryder Cup takes place in County Limerick in September 2027. The agreement includes 30-day catch-up rights on the RTÉ Player for viewers in the Republic of Ireland, social media clip distribution rights, and audio commentary access across RTÉ Radio platforms. Sky Sports continues to hold the exclusive live television broadcast contract for the Ryder Cup in Ireland and the United Kingdom through 2029.
In addition to the Ryder Cup highlights package, the deal extends RTÉ's existing partnership with the DP World Tour for the Amgen Irish Open. The multi-year agreement covers live video, radio, and digital streaming rights across the station's platforms.
RTÉ Head of Sport Declan McBennett said the broadcaster was pleased to renew its commitment to bringing high-profile golf coverage to viewers free-to-air. He noted that incorporating television highlights from the Ryder Cup alongside live coverage of the Irish Open ensures Irish audiences will have free-to-air access to major international sporting events hosted within the country.
