The National Ploughing Association has confirmed that Boherkill Farm in Rathangan, County Kildare, will host the 2027 National Ploughing Championships, moving the flagship national event from its previous location in County Offaly.

The venue reveal was announced at the close of the 95th National Ploughing Championships in Screggan, near Tullamore, where organisers reported a total turnout of 243,000 visitors across three days. The attendance figure marked an increase on the 225,500 visitors recorded at the previous year's event.

The 2027 championships are scheduled to run from September 21 to September 23, 2027. Organisers adjusted the dates back by one week to prevent a scheduling clash with the Ryder Cup golf tournament, which is due to take place at Adare Manor in County Limerick from September 13 to September 19, 2027.

National Ploughing Association Assistant Managing Director Anna Marie McHugh noted that moving venues across different regions remains an integral part of the association's ongoing tradition.
