Limerick welterweight Paddy Donovan produced a dominant performance at Dublin's Croke Park on Saturday evening, securing a fourth-round doctor-stoppage victory over Belfast rival Tyrone McKenna. The all-Irish bout featured prominently on the undercard of Katie Taylor's high-profile fight night at the stadium.

Donovan assumed control in the opening round, taking the center of the ring and controlling the distance. In the second round, the 27-year-old southpaw floored the 36-year-old McKenna with a body shot to the solar plexus. Although McKenna managed to beat the referee's count and survive the round, Donovan remained in firm command of the contest.

As the fight progressed into the third and fourth rounds, Donovan continued to land sharper combinations, inflicting damage that resulted in a cut over McKenna's left eye and a severe gash above his right eye. Following an inspection by the ringside medical doctor in the fourth round, the bout was halted due to the severity of the cuts, awarding Donovan the victory.

The stoppage triumph marks a key result for Donovan as he continues to push toward world title contention in the welterweight division.
