Ireland Women's all-rounder Arlene Kelly has announced her retirement from international and professional cricket following Ireland's third One-Day International against England Women at Worcester.

The 32-year-old Auckland-born cricketer brought an end to a four-and-a-half-year international career that saw her earn 110 caps across white-ball formats for Ireland. Renowned for her accuracy and consistency as a medium-pace swing bowler, Kelly established herself as a core figure in the national team after making her international debut against South Africa in June 2022.

Kelly finishes her international career as Ireland Women's third-highest wicket-taker in history with 135 wickets, trailing only Isobel Joyce and Laura Delany. Her finest individual performance with the ball came against the Netherlands in a Twenty20 International in 2023, when she recorded figures of 5 for 12. Alongside her bowling, she contributed 601 runs in international white-ball cricket and stepped in as stand-in captain during matches in 2025.

Her standout 2023 season saw her named Cricket Ireland's International Women's Player of the Year, as well as earning the ICC Women's Player of the Month award for August 2023. In a statement released by Cricket Ireland, Kelly described representing Ireland as an "absolute privilege" and confirmed plans to return to New Zealand to spend more time with family and friends, while Ireland captain Gaby Lewis paid tribute to her reliability and lasting impact on the squad.
