Specialist development finance lender Ardcairn Capital has opened a new regional office at 1 Horgan's Quay in Cork City, following the expansion of its lending activity past the €1 billion mark.
Launched in 2021 with backing from UK savings and investment group M&G, the firm provides non-bank development loans starting at €5 million, financing between 60% and 90% of overall project costs. The lender focuses primarily on private residential homebuilding, social and affordable schemes, and purpose-built student accommodation.
According to figures released by the company, Ardcairn has provided funding toward the construction of more than 5,000 residential homes and student accommodation units across Ireland to date. In County Cork alone, the platform has supported over 1,500 units, including key developments such as Longview in Ballyvolane and projects on Waterfall Road.
The new Cork waterfront base will accommodate a dedicated lending and portfolio management team tasked with supporting homebuilders across the Munster region. The local office operations at Horgan's Quay are led by Dan Murphy, serving as director of new lending, alongside portfolio manager Michelle Morgan.
